With the support of CRY, Bangalore PRAGATHI planned to organised kalajatha programmes on COVID19, to create awareness to the community on prevention of COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the program implementation engaged cultural team under the leadership of Mr. Nageswara Rao, the team consisting with 7 members. PRAGATHI team planned to organise 8 cultural programs covered 12 villages, covered 915 families and 2245 population. While preparing the program schedule and performing the programmes the team followed certain guidelines as mentioned below;
During the cultural programmes the team majorly focused on Preventions, protection, vaccine etc of COVID19 and also covered the Child labour, Child marriages, importance of education. The child collective’s children were actively participated in the programmes. We involved Grama Surpanch, Ward members, Teachers, Volunteers, AW workers, ANMs, CBO members and SCV leaders.
with the support of Give India provided 25 Oxygen concentrators to PRAGATHI for distribution in 8 PHCs, one Area hospital, SVRR General Hospital to the health centers. PRAGATHI identified the requirement in health centers in the project are and discussed with concern medical officers and shared the information about Oxygen concentrators.
CRY, Bangalore provided 40 Community health kits consisting with Medicines, Pulse Oxy meter, BP Machine, Temperature meter, surgical masks and Soaps for distribution in 40 villages. The team members identified 8 sub centers and 32 Anganwadi centers in the project area. The CEO of PRAGATHI and team members interacted with concern ANMs, Ashas and Anganwadi workers and distributed the community health kits and explained about the purpose of distribution to them. The team members suggested to utilizing the kits in the villages and schools where ever necessary. In this distribution process involved PRI members, SCV leaders and sachivalayam staff. During the second wave of corona virus, partial lock down/curfew ordered by the Government as prevention measures of COVID19 pandemic. With the total restriction in movement from home for all and unavailability of daily needs and essentials to the poor families in the project area. PRAGATHI decided to mobilize support from different donors and individuals to support the needy community.
As part of the COVID 19 disaster response distributed 150 PPE Kits and 10000 Surgical Masks to front line warriors in SVR Ruia General Hospital, Tirupati, Area hospital, Srikalahasthi and PHCs of Empedu, Renigunta, Yerpedu and Papanaidupeta.
