AP Community Health Intervention Project (APCHIP)

Pragathi have been implemented APCHIP project in Chinnagottigallu, Piler, Pulicherla, Rompicherla and Yerravaripalem mandals in Chittoor District covering 1,50,000 population with the support of TB alert UK. The programme aiming to “halt and reverse the spread of TB, Phyleria, Malaria, Leprosy and HIV diseases within the support of public health services, enhancing case detection and treatment completion by providing quality, locally available health information, education and patient support.

Two trained community health workers and working with the community by covering 1, 50,000 population and created awareness by taking up activities such as group awareness, cultural programs, school education programs, support group meeting, sensitization workshops to volunteers, rallies & awareness meetings during events days, women groups, community leaders, religious leaders, health staff, HIV counsellors, lab technicians, TB health visitors and media journalists. Identified TB suspected cases and referred to RNTCP for testing.Village level community health support groups are promoted and oriented them on various health aspects. The DOT providers have been given training. CHC, PHC health staff are involving in this program and coordinating the staff in planning and organizing programmes in the project area.
